    Project Liberty Ship is a nonprofit, all-volunteer organization dedicated to the preservation, restoration and operation of the Liberty Ship S.S. JOHN W. BROWN as a maritime museum ship and a living memorial to those who built, sailed and defended Liberty ships during World War II. Restored to steaming conditions, the BROWN conducts several Living History Cruises on the Chesapeake Bay each year.
